Job Details Job Location: Shady Canyon Golf Club - Irvine, CA 92603, Salary Range: $27.00 - $29.00 Hourly, The Pastry Cook works with and assists the Pastry Chef in preparing all pastry items for the club in accordance with established recipes and customer service standards. The Pastry Cook supports the Pastry Chef in overseeing the day-to-day pastry kitchen operation as well as helping with menu and recipe development. The Pastry Cook will review the week’s production and event needs and organize oneself to ensure successful completion of all orders. They will be working with minimal supervision. Work with the pastry chef to produce all desserts and other pastry items for club outlets and banquets. Must stay for all banquet plating at night. Make sure everything is orderly and clean and leftover items are put away properly before leaving. Work closely with standard recipes and presentations in order to maintain quality standards and consistency of products to insure the highest quality and appearance of any items sent from the pastry kitchen. Work with the Pastry Chef in order to develop new items and ongoing development of skills and techniques. Must be able to execute all aspects of baking and pastry arts needed to successfully run the pastry kitchen in the absence of the pastry chef. Will log events of the day(s) in an understandable and direct way so that the pastry chef is informed of what has transpired in their absence. Develop new pastry items with an artistic and aesthetically appealing presentation. Maintain an inventory of items on par sheet to ensure the necessary amount is available for business demands and make decisions on ordering products. Make decisions on amounts of pastries/desserts to produce for banquets so as not to have too many leftovers or run short. Will properly store and keep in order all products in freezer and walk-in refrigerator and storerooms. Work neatly and cleanly, keeping work areas and walk-ins in accordance with sanitary standards. Ensure proper stock rotation in all areas of the pastry kitchen and keep waste to a minimum, notify the pastry chef of losses. Maintain a cooperative working relationship with fellow employees. Respond properly in any club emergency or safety situation. Perform other tasks or projects as assigned by club management. Certified in Food Service sanitation. Have a thorough knowledge of Shady Canyon food standards and make sure all products served are at Shady Canyon Standards. Employee may perform other related duties to meet the ongoing needs of the Club as requested by the supervisor. Qualifications Reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language. Thorough knowledge and understanding of bakery products, ingredients, equipment and techniques. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Ability to make independent decisions. Good level of creativity and good organizational skills. Minimum of 3-5 plus years experience as pastry cook. Completion of culinary course preferred. #J-18808-Ljbffr
