20900 Oakwood Blvd, Dearborn, Michigan, United States of America Partnership & Business Support Develops strong partnerships with assigned Business Units by maintaining knowledge of the institution’s mission and values, operational standards, goals, and practices Serves as a trusted partner and coach to leaders and employees on HR related issues, such as employment practices, institutional policies and procedures Evaluates Business Unit adherence to organizational standards and provides recommendations for improvement Supports leaders with organizational effectiveness, workforce planning, and operational challenges Collaborates with leadership to strengthen employee engagement and workplace culture Partners with Talent Development leaders to identify training needs and promote operational excellence Advises leaders on career path planning, competency development, and employee growth opportunities Provides managers with foundational Talent & Culture support systems, expectations, in a collaborative manner and collaborative processes Provides leaders with key workforce information including organizational charts, performance processes, and development tools Supports performance management processes including coaching, accountability, and development planning Employee Relations & Compliance Leads employee relations matters, workplace investigations, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution Support union and non-union dispute resolution in partnership with T&C leadership when appropriate Applies HR best practices, organizational policies, and work rules consistently to mitigate risk and ensure an inclusive and equitable workplace Maintains accurate employee relations records, case documentation, data entry, and tracking metrics May support unemployment claim administration, documentation requests, hearings preparation, and response coordination Reviews and approves Personnel Action Forms for accuracy, completeness, compliance, and processing readiness Conducts exit interviews, identifies trends, and escalates concerns to leadership as appropriate Stays current on HR trends, employment laws, and regulatory changes, communicating relevant updates Contributes to the overall success of the Human Resources team through collaboration, teamwork, and subject matter expertise Updates VP and Director of HR on trending issues within the business unit Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field 5 years of progressive, growth experience in Human Resources including successful experience with/in employee relations, investigations, performance management, and coaching 5 years of practical experience and application of employment laws, such as wage & hour, harassment, discrimination within the State of Michigan Experience with employment laws, navigating harassment, discrimination, wage & hour, and investigations HR best practices, and policy administration Ability to manage confidential and sensitive matters professionally Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with Dayforce or similar HRIS systems plus Preferred Qualifications HR certification such as SHRM-CP or HRCI PHR Experience in nonprofit, hospitality, cultural institution, unionized, or multi-site environments Special Skills Ability to translate employment law into operational guidance for leaders and prevent issues before they accelerate Strong coaching and leadership support skills; strong judgment, and conflict resolution skills Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and sound judgment Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and recommend solutions Applies sound judgment and problem‑solving skills to assess issues, identify root causes, and implement practical solutions Strong organizational skills with ability to manage and meet deadlines and prioritize projects Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills that influence others to create an inclusive, equitable and compliant environment Ability to build collaborative relationships across all levels of the organization Professionalism, adaptability, and strong customer service focus Models the Henry Ford’s core values of Welcoming, Curious, Authentic, and Passionate through professional, respectful, and collaborative interactions #J-18808-Ljbffr The Henry Ford
