As a Certified Surgical Technician , you will join a dynamic perioperative team dedicated to precision, collaboration, and patient-focused care, all of which contribute to outstanding surgical results. In the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR), your contributions will be vital in preparing the surgical environment, assisting surgeons and perioperative nurses during operations, and ensuring that every patient receives safe, efficient, and high-quality surgical care. • Prepare operating rooms by organizing and ensuring the availability of surgical instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies for scheduled procedures.
• Maintain a sterile environment within the operating room.
• Work alongside the perioperative registered nurse to deliver personalized, age-appropriate care throughout the surgical process.
• Uphold a sterile field and comply with infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and organizational policies to ensure safe surgical outcomes.
• Anticipate the needs of the surgeon regarding instrumentation and equipment during procedures, adapting swiftly to changes in surgical conditions.
• Assist the surgical team during both routine and complex procedures by handling instruments, supplies, and equipment with precision.
• Monitor the surgical environment to ensure patients' physiological responses are appropriate throughout the perioperative experience.
• Support a safe operating room by adhering to established risk reduction practices, including fire prevention and safety protocols related to laser and electrosurgical equipment.
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, registered nurses, and other perioperative team members to provide coordinated, patient-centered care.
• Ensure accurate preparation, organization, and turnover of surgical equipment to facilitate efficient workflow between procedures.
• Engage in departmental education, orientation, competency validation, and quality improvement initiatives to support ongoing clinical excellence.

To qualify for this Surgical Technician role, you should be dedicated to supporting safe, high-quality surgical care through technical expertise and teamwork.

• A High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
• Completion of a Surgical Technician program and certification (CST credential from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or another recognized credentialing body) is mandatory.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience as a surgical technician in an operating room setting is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) is necessary.
• Availability to work a schedule of 36 hours per week, primarily during the day shift from 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM.
• Willingness to work weekends, holidays, and fulfill on-call duties as needed.
