Summary Position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) – a student loan payment reimbursement program. Candidates must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit their EDRP application within four months of appointment. Award amounts (up to $200,000) and eligibility periods (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review. Former EDRP participants are ineligible to apply. Duties The Nurse Practitioner practices in Primary Care Service to provide a full range of services emphasizing quality, timeliness, and the advancement of the Veterans Affairs mission. Provides advanced clinical practice, consultation, and management. Practices to the full extent of education, training, and certification. Core functions are outlined in the clinical privileges that correspond with this position. Has prescriptive authority for a panel of patients or program as indicated by their position. Independently manages a panel of patients with acute and chronic health conditions, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention using evidence‑based practice. Develops and implements individualized plans to achieve optimal population health and disease management. Demonstrates leadership and works collaboratively with Primary Care Team and other interdisciplinary members. Orders and interprets labs, tests, and diagnostic studies. Prescribes pharmacologic and non‑pharmacologic interventions. Initiates referrals and consults to specialty services. Provides education to patients and families.
