Job Overview Watercrest Buena Vista is looking for a concierge to serve as the initial point of contact for potential residents, families, vendors, and the community—either in person or via phone. The concierge ensures a professional, polite, and welcoming experience for all guests, notifies team members of visitor arrivals, and maintains security and telecommunications systems. Essential Job Functions Maintains a professional personal presentation. Welcomes visitors by greeting them in person or on the telephone; answers or refers inquiries. Answers the phone within 3 rings, determines the nature of the call, and relays information or routes the call as appropriate. Takes detailed messages with name, date, time, and return phone number. Ensures team members receive phone messages promptly. Maintains knowledge of who is available to receive inquiries or host tours. Maintains security by following procedures and monitoring log books to include visitor sign-in and sign-out. Maintains a safe and clean reception, lobby, and welcome room in compliance with procedures, rules, and regulations. Receives and sorts mail for the Leadership Team. Maintains yearly transportation book for resident doctor appointments as necessary. Communicates with driver at least 24 hours in advance regarding resident appointment dates and times. Reports all accidents and incidents to the supervisor promptly, no matter how minor. Maintains confidentiality of residents’ personal care information. Honors residents’ personal and property rights. Must be in company uniform and resident ready at all times. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of computers and relevant software applications, including Microsoft Office and Outlook. Communicates effectively with all levels of management, team members, residents, family members, vendors, referral sources, and outside contacts. Decides independently and makes informed choices. Communicates in a warm, friendly, and caring manner. Passion for working with and around senior citizens. Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures. Knowledge of customer service principles and practices. Education Requirements High School Diploma or GED. Experience Requirements Two (2) years of concierge/front desk receptionist experience in a customer service-oriented industry. Physical Requirements Must be able to sit 75% of the day. Must concentrate with frequent interruptions. Must work under stress and in emergency situations. Must work under conditions requiring sitting, standing, walking, reaching, pulling, pushing, and grasping. Must speak and hear effectively to convey messages, instructions, and information. Occasionally lifts or carries up to 50 pounds. Occupational Exposure / Personal Protective Equipment Work in all areas of the community. Exposure to dust, disinfectants, cleaning chemicals, infectious waste, diseases, and other conditions. Requires personal protective equipment and supplies to prevent burns, falls, and infection, and to follow safety policies and procedures. Personal protective equipment includes an infection control kit, rubber gloves, and non-slip shoes. Exposure to infectious diseases, substances, and odors.
