Respiratory Therapist - Masonic - .8 Evening

Job Overview Fairview is hiring a Respiratory Therapist to join our Respiratory Therapy team at our Fairview Masonic Children’s Hospital located in Minneapolis, MN. We’re offering a $20,000 Sign-On Bonus (Flat rate/Not Prorated) for RTs with 2+ years of Neonatal/Pediatric experience hired at our Children's Masonic Hospital location. If you do not have the experience listed, you can also qualify for our $12,000 Sign-On Bonus. The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for providing diagnostic and therapeutic services as prescribed by a physician, following defined treatment protocols according to department policies, collecting, assessing, interpreting, and intervening as appropriate in the care of neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients, and ensuring patient welfare and safety standards during treatments. Schedule This position will be working 0.8 FTE (64 hours every two weeks). The shift length will be 8 hours on the evening shift from 2:45-11:15 pm. This position will also work a rotation for every third weekend. Shift Differentials: $4/hr Night $2/hr Weekends About Our Team Respiratory Therapy at the U of M Masonic Children’s Hospital is a dynamic, growing department with approximately 50 staff members. As part of a large, integrated, academic healthcare system, the Respiratory Therapist has an integral and dynamic role in the care of children. At the University of Minnesota Masonic Children’s Hospital, the child comes first. Responsibilities Assessing patient needs and identifying expected outcomes. Implementing respiratory interventions based on plan of care. Evaluating care and the patient’s response to interventions and expected outcomes. Delivering care as delegated by physician/authorized practitioner to assigned patient population, or individual patient. Using communication strategies to achieve desirable outcomes. Operating and maintaining all respiratory care equipment. Required Qualifications Education Associate’s Degree in Respiratory Care/Therapy or related field License/Certification/Registration Respiratory Therapist License issued by the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). Exceptions include: New graduates only – must complete RRT within 6 months of hire date.
