About the Role

The Company is seeking a VP-level candidate for its equities market risk team. The successful candidate will be tasked with providing market risk oversight for the firm's equity trading business, including flow, exotics, and corporate derivative trading desks. This role involves direct collaboration with traders to assess and explain risk and limit usage, as well as partnering with them to align risk appetite and hedge strategies. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 3 years' experience in market risk management, with a preference for those who have worked in an equities trading business. However, experience in fixed income repo, non-linear rates, or non-linear FX will also be considered. Strong knowledge of various equity derivative products or fixed income products is essential, as is the ability to work with risk metrics such as VaR and P&L. Proficiency in Python and SQL, along with strong communication skills and the ability to work in a front office environment, are also required. Applicants for this role at the company should be prepared to join a relatively lean team, which offers the opportunity for significant influence on the front office and within market risk. The position is based in New York City and is a permanent, full-time role. The successful candidate will be expected to have a proactive approach to their work, be able to explain risk metrics clearly, and be adept at optimizing risk usage and risk appetite in partnership with traders and desk heads.
