Barista

Society Coffee Bar is looking for a friendly, dependable, and hardworking Barista to join our team. Baristas are responsible for providing excellent customer service, preparing consistently high-quality beverages, maintaining a clean and organized café, and helping create a welcoming experience for every customer. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, communicates well with customers and coworkers, and is willing to learn and follow Society Coffee Bar's standards and procedures. Responsibilities: Develop a strong understanding of the Society Coffee Bar menu, including beverages, ingredients, and available options. Confidently explain menu items, answer customer questions, and make thoughtful recommendations based on customer preferences. Provide friendly, attentive, and professional customer service at all times. Prepare coffee, espresso beverages, and other menu items accurately and consistently according to Society Coffee Bar standards. Maintain drink quality, presentation, and consistency throughout every shift. Work efficiently and remain organized in a fast-paced café environment, especially during high-volume periods. Listen to and follow instructions provided by shift leads and management. Complete opening, closing, cleaning, and shift checklists thoroughly and on time. Stock and replenish cups, ingredients, milk, coffee, and other supplies as needed. Keep the bar, workstations, storage areas, and equipment clean and organized. Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the dining room, including tables, seating areas, and customer-facing spaces. Follow proper cleaning, sanitation, food safety, and workplace safety procedures. Communicate effectively with team members and help maintain a positive, cooperative work environment. Take initiative when tasks need to be completed and support other team members as needed. Qualifications & Expectations: Friendly and customer-focused attitude. Reliable, punctual, and responsible. Strong communication and listening skills. Ability to learn and retain menu and product knowledge. Ability to prepare beverages consistently and follow established recipes. Comfortable receiving direction and feedback from shift leads and management. Ability to follow procedures and complete assigned checklists. Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, and detail. Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Willingness to contribute to the team and help wherever needed. What Success Looks Like: A successful Society Coffee Bar barista provides customers with a consistently positive experience. They know the menu, make quality drinks, maintain a clean and organized workspace, follow direction, complete their responsibilities without needing constant reminders, and contribute positively to the overall flow of the café.
