In this role, you'll design and scale backend services that support critical business operations, including payments and other financial workflows. You'll collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to deliver secure, reliable tools that reduce operational friction and give contractors greater control over their finances.What You'll DoArchitect, design, and evolve scalable, high-performance APIs and backend services for contractor financial toolsBuild secure and reliable capabilities that support payments and other financial workflowsIntegrate with internal and external systems while keeping services maintainable and extensibleCollaborate cross-functionally with Product, Design, Finance, Risk, and Operations to translate business needs into resilient technical solutionsDrive the full software development lifecycle, from technical design and implementation through testing, deployment, and post-launch supportMentor and guide engineers across the team, setting high standards for system design, security, scalability, and code qualityChampion operational excellence through strong practices around observability, documentation, monitoring, alerting, and incident responseWhat You Bring8+ years of software development experience, with deep backend expertise in Node.js, TypeScript, and NestJSExperience with cloud infrastructure, preferably AWSStrong system design skills, with experience building scalable, reliable, and secure distributed systems and APIsExcellent communication skills and a collaborative, leadership-oriented mindsetPassion for clean, maintainable code, mentoring others, and continuous improvementBonus PointsExperience building B2B SaaS, financial technology, or business operations productsExperience with event-driven architectures, domain-driven design, or complex third-party integrations$155,400 - $193,500 a year Base pay range (CA, WA, NJ, MA, DC, NYC) per year: $170,900 - $193,500 Base pay range (all other US locations) per year: $155,400- $175,900 In addition to the above salary, this role may be eligible for a bonus and equity.Job duties include additional responsibilities as assigned by one's supervisor or other managers related to the position/department.
