Job Title RN - Med Surg Assignment Details Length of assignment: 14 weeks Shift: 07:00 AM to 07:00 PM Day Shift: 12 hours/day, 3 days/week Location: New Orleans, LA Summary A professional nurse is accountable for the care of a group of patients. The Registered Nurse (RN) focuses on safe, effective, patient and family‑centered care, customer satisfaction and quality outcomes. The RN assists in maintaining a financially stable unit, promotes personal development with an emphasis on evidence‑based practice and education supported by a Practice Governance framework, and supervises licensed and non‑licensed staff members. The RN assesses, develops, implements, and evaluates the plan of care, promotes patient and family comfort, education, and satisfaction, and mentors and precepts staff. Work Experience (Basic) 2 years of acute care RN experience Education (Required) Diploma or Associate Certification (Required) Registered Nurse Responsibilities 20% - Assessment: Performs assessments & reassessments per policy & procedure or as warranted by patient condition, demonstrating the ability to make sound independent decisions. 20% - Development & Implementation: Initiates, prioritizes, and implements the plan of care and reviews and revises the plan as indicated. Collaborates with patient/family and interdisciplinary services; utilizes resources appropriately to support the needs of the organization, patient, and family. 15% - Evaluation: Monitors and documents response to clinical interventions. 25% - Education: Facilitates, coordinates, provides, and evaluates education specific to patient/family needs and as appropriate to the care, treatment, and services provided during their stay and at discharge. 20% - Leadership: Delegates tasks to licensed and non‑licensed personnel; functions as a mentor/preceptor; demonstrates, encourages, and facilitates teamwork; identifies and appropriately communicates opportunities for improvement; participates in quality, safety, and service process improvement efforts; and implements practice changes in compliance with regulatory standards, participating in the Practice Governance model.
