About the Role
The Company is seeking an AVP, Associate General Counsel to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing hands-on legal counsel to the company's business units, managing legal operations, and ensuring legal compliance. This role involves identifying and analyzing legal issues, presenting clear recommendations, and supporting the legal department's objective of being a trusted advisor. The AVP, Associate General Counsel will also be involved in defensive litigation matters, legal research, and the development and negotiation of various legal agreements. Building effective relationships with internal clients and embracing the company's core values is essential. Applicants must have a JD degree, be admitted to the state bar, and have 3-5 years of work experience, with a preference for those with in-house or mid to large law firm experience. A strong background in consumer financial services and familiarity with relevant laws and regulations is required. The ideal candidate will have superior analytical skills, exceptional judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities. The role demands excellent communication, computer, and Microsoft Office skills, as well as a teamwork-oriented attitude and the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
