2026 Salary Range: $89,508.00 - $138,370.00/Year (includes locality)

The primary purpose of this position is: To serve as a logistics management specialist in support of sustainment phases of assigned systems, programs, or major equipment. The Strategic Planning and Transformation Unit within the Air Logistics Complex acts as the ALC corporate interface on command strategic planning issues. The unit develops and publishes the annual strategic plan based on USAF, AFMC, AFSC and ALC goals and objectives. The organization participates in the review and analysis of the Program Budget Decisions (PBDs) affecting the ALC for impacts on strategic and corporate planning goals and objectives. The SPU produces special reports, manages information, products and brochures dealing with current and future capabilities and missions of the ALC. The transformation team within the Air Logistics Complex, serves to strengthen the ability of every Airman in the Complex to drive improved mission performance in line with AFSC strategic goals and objectives through continuous processes improvement, strengthening management effectiveness and shaping mindsets and behaviors. The team provides CPI leadership, support, and training across all Groups and Staff Offices in order ensure continuity and alignment with ALC directives and initiatives. Responsibilities include integrating strategic goals, objectives and mission/capabilities between the Program Offices, Depot Operations, Supply Chain, and state/local community stakeholders. Work is primarily Monday - Friday, 40 hours per work week.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

1. Extensive knowledge and skill in applying analytical and evaluative techniques for the identification, consideration, and resolution of issues or problems concerning efficiency and effectiveness of the program and/or strategic sourcing.

2. Master knowledge of overall missions, functions, and organization of the agency or component. Ability to apply the knowledge to evaluate current organizational strategies and performance.

3. Extensive knowledge of organizational concepts, principles, and practices as related to the requirements for performance-based logistics, acquisition., supply maintenance, procurement procedures, manufacturing, strategic sourcing, and other support areas.

4. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and with accuracy, and maintain good working relations with all individuals and organizations.

5. Ability to work with, lead, and manage various groups or individuals to resolve difficult problems/situations as related to organizational issues. Ability to understand and deploy lean concepts in problem resolution.

6. Skill in interpreting and applying complex DOD, USAF, AFMC, and AFSC regulations, methods, operating procedures, and policies, as well as developing methods and operating procedures as required.
