Position Summary
Mt. Kisco Honda and Acura of Bedford Hills are looking for a detail-oriented Auto Detailer to join our Service Department. This role is responsible for keeping new, used, and showroom vehicles looking their best, from hand-washing and interior deep cleans to reconditioning used vehicles for retail sale and prepping new vehicles for customer delivery. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, has an eye for detail, and enjoys working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Exterior Detailing: Hand-wash, dry, wax, and buff vehicle exteriors. Clean wheels, tires, wheel wells, and windows. Apply paint sealants or ceramic coatings as required.
• Interior Detailing: Vacuum, shampoo, and steam-clean carpets, seats, and upholstery. Clean and condition leather surfaces. Wipe down dashboards, center consoles, and air vents.
• Reconditioning & Restoration: Perform light paint correction, scratch removal, and headlight restoration to prepare used vehicles for retail sale.
• Inventory Maintenance: Maintain showroom vehicles by keeping them dust-free and sanitized.
• New Car Prep: Remove protective transport wraps, inspect for transit damage, and conduct final pre-delivery inspections (PDI) for customer pickups.
• Equipment & Shop Safety: Operate high-pressure washers, buffer machines, and hot-water extractors safely. Maintain clean work bays and follow OSHA hazardous chemical (HazCom) guidelines.

Qualifications & Skills

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (required)
• 1+ years of professional auto detailing experience preferred, but entry-level candidates are welcome, as training is often provided
• Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and perform physical labor for 8+ hours
• Strong eye for detail, good time management, and safe handling of power tools and chemical cleaning agents

Working Conditions

• Fast-paced environment with strict turnaround deadlines
• Involves working indoors in service bays and outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Frequent exposure to cleaning chemicals, water, and noise from power equipment
