Are you detail-oriented, passionate about patient care, and looking to make a meaningful impact in a dynamic organization? We are seeking a dedicated Full-time Surgical Coordinator to join our team and help ensure the accuracy and integrity of our practice. 

About the Role: 
The Surgical Coordinator aids the Surgical Coordinator Supervisor in coordinating physician surgery schedule making certain that patient scheduling flows smoothly. The Surgical Coordinator Assistant serves as primary staff liaison with all patients recommended for surgical intervention from initial physician recommendation for surgery until surgery is completed and patient has been discharged from care on a PRN basis. The position is responsible for support paperwork for authorization and documentation to patients and physicians; maintains awareness of various attorney or insurance carrier restrictions to assure all necessary criteria are met prior to surgery. The Surgical Coordinator Assistant works with third party medical providers to ensure pre-operative clearance is obtained and all after care needs are addressed. This position must work collaboratively with all staff in support of direct patient services and office operations exhibiting flexibility and a "can-do” attitude. The Surgical Coordinator must always exercise utmost discretion, diplomacy and tact in patient/staff interactions while exhibiting values of integrity and compassion.

Key Responsibilities:

• Under the supervision of the Surgical Coordinator Supervisor, works closely with referring attorney/physician keeping them informed of processes both before and after surgery.
• Works closely with patient, insurance company and Surgery Center to coordinate procedure. 
• Coordinates pre-operative and post-operative appointments for patients 
• Educate patients regarding surgical preparation procedures, food, fluid and medication intake and restrictions. 
• Maintains excellent communication with patients, including returning phone calls promptly. 
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office applications and internet resources. 
• Ability to multi-task and work effectively in a high-stress and fast-moving environment. 
• Maintains a high level of ethical conduct regarding HIPAA, patient confidentiality and professional stature. 
• Able to communicate effectively and build positive relationships with all clinical and administrative staff. 
• Demonstrates adaptability and flexibility to changes in the work environment. 
• Ensures a professional atmosphere at all times. 
• Maintains a clean and orderly work area. 
• Adheres to all company policies and procedures. 
• Attends staff meetings, as necessary. 
• Participates in Quality Improvement meetings. 
• Attends and/or completes all in-service training requirements. 
• Completes additional tasks, as assigned.

• Strong Communication Skills: Patient interaction is a major part of this role, so you have solid verbal and nonverbal communication skills. Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients and colleagues
• Comprehensive Knowledge: You understand medical and orthopedic terminology.
• Regulation Proficiency: You abide by HIPAA and OSHA standards.
• Experience: Previous experience in orthopedic or a similar role is preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and orthopedics is beneficial.

Qualifications: 

• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. and complete a level II background screening with AHCA
• Bilingual preferred
