Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Behavioral Health Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Active RN License Certifications: BLS, CPI Must-Have: - Ability to assess patients' mental health status, including recognizing signs of psychiatric disorders, substance use, and behavioral problems. - Developing individualized care plans based on the needs of patients with mental health and behavioral issues. - Administering psychiatric medications and monitoring for side effects or adverse reactions. - Providing immediate, short-term support to patients in crisis, including de-escalation techniques and appropriate medication management. - Building trust and rapport with patients through effective communication skills, active listening, and empathy. Description: Unit specifics include various patient care areas with different bed capacities. Ratios for staff include nurses to patients at 8:1 and mental health technicians to patients at 12:1. The environment supports adolescents, adults with varying acuity, and senior lifestyle patients. Documentation is managed through a specific electronic system. Coverage is required for three 12-hour shifts each day, including weekends. There is a floating policy where staff will be utilized in areas of greatest need. Patient experience aligns with core values of integrity, compassion, and respect. Key communication behaviors aim to create positive care interactions. Required certifications include BLS and CPI. Nursing staff is expected to wear specified uniforms according to unit roles. No positions beyond what is indicated are available.
