Position Purpose

Coordinate and plan the flow of information and facilitate resolution to customer related requests for gas related inquiries including; gas main extensions, new gas services, and additional load requests. Assists supervisory staff with coordination and planning of company driven gas projects associated with the inspection, maintenance and replacement of the gas distribution system. Prepares associated documents and ensures project tracking data bases are accurately maintained. Collaborates with co-workers and personnel from other departments to ensure the effectiveness and efficiencies of internal processes and to provide satisfactory service to customers. Ensures that all work activities and interactions with customers and co-workers reflect the highest standards for conduct and professionalism.

Project Coordination : Coordinates, assembles, and organizes information pertaining to all customers’ requests relating to gas service needs to ensure accurate information is collected and processed within the operations center. Ensures that the customer meets certain administrative obligations and provides the customer with accurate and timely information relative to company requirements. Proactively seeks to follow up on outstanding administrative issues and status of projects or service requests. 

• Seek, collect, and record accurate data and information from customers, contractors, plumbers and consultants regarding gas service requests. 
• Establish, prepare, and organize database records and documents for the purpose of timely inspections and designs by the supervisory staff.
• Provide guidance and instructions to customers, contractors, plumbers, city and town inspectors, and consultants relative to company gas service policies, processes, schedules, constructions standards, and costs. 
• Prepare and/or finalize accurate letters, estimates, and authorizations associated with customer & company driven projects. 
• Prepare accurate gas meter orders within the customer information system. 
• Monitor and update the status of customer related projects within associated database system(s) and distribute associated reports and records as needed. 
• Prepares projects for installation, including; permits, dig safe, construction work orders and detailed installation specifications.
• Assist supervisory personnel with the coordination and planning of gas system maintenance, service and replacement activities to ensure public safety and compliance with Federal Regulations 49 CFR, State Regulations, and Unitil’s Operation and Maintenance Procedures.
• Assist supervisory staff with scheduling appointments, making phone calls, and miscellaneous project initiatives.

Undertakes and completes assignments and special projects as assigned by supervisors and management. Provide routine support for any functional areas within both Gas and Electric Operations as directed by supervisory or management staff. 

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Business or equivalent work experience. 
• Minimum of 2 years of progressively responsible related experience. 
• Proficient with computer software such as Excel, Word, and other desktop tools, as well it would be ideal to have experience with information systems (Oracle WACS and Oracle FFS). 
• Demonstrate strong communication, organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
