\n About the role - CDL Class B Driver (Explosives Delivery & Service) Homer, GA \n

\n

We are excited to announce an opportunity at Orica for a  CDL Class B Driver within our Orica USA Commercial team.

\n  \n

\n This hands-on role is responsible for safely operating Orica's bulk trucks (Mobile Manufacturing Units) to deliver and install blasting products for customers in mining, quarry, and construction environments. The position plays a critical role in supporting safe and efficient blasting operations through equipment operation, product delivery, preventative maintenance, and exceptional customer service.\n

\n This is a hybrid role that combines approximately 40% driving and 60% physical field work . The role involves working outdoors in a variety of environments and weather conditions while loading, delivering, and installing bulk explosive products at customer sites.\n

\n Additionally, this role operates equipment to provide blasting products and deliver high-quality service to customers. Success in this position requires a strong commitment to safety, attention to detail, and the ability to perform physically demanding work while supporting customers' operational needs. We prioritize safety and strive to ensure all operations are conducted in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.\n

\n Work schedule \n

\n
• Monday through Friday
\n
• Local driving (2-3 hours)
\n
• Early morning starts at approximately 3 AM
\n
• Work approximately 10-12 hours per day
\n
• Overtime may be needed
\n
• Up to 10% of overnight travel may be required
\n

\n

\n What you will be doing \n

\n

\n
• This is a hybrid position, consisting of approximately 40% driving and 60% physical work.
\n
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, including checking and refilling fluid levels.
\n
• Operate emulsion tanker trucks and box trucks as part of daily responsibilities.
\n
• Ensure raw materials and hazardous goods are handled, stored, and used in compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
\n
• Minimize environmental impact through waste reduction and control practices.
\n
• Immediately report any unusual incidents or accidents.
\n
• Actively participate in daily toolbox talks and monthly safety meetings to promote a safe and collaborative work environment.
\n

\n What you will bring \n

\n

\n
• Minimum of one year of experience in driving and/or material handling (preferred).
\n
• Solid understanding of DOT regulations (required).
\n
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
\n
• Excellent attention to detail and basic math skills to manage daily inventory tasks.
\n
• Ability to prioritize multiple projects, daily responsibilities, and urgent situations to maintain efficiency.
\n

\n Physical requirements \n

\n

\n
• Work is performed outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
\n
• Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds and carry 50 pounds or more of product or materials.
\n
• Requires the ability to load product, pull large hoses, fill drilled holes, and climb on and off trucks.
\n
• Frequent shoveling of gravel to fill drilled holes throughout the day.
\n
• Regular pushing and pulling while working with equipment.
\n
• Other physical activities include frequent bending, squatting, and general mobility throughout the workday.

\n Your qualifications \n

\n

\n
• Valid Class B CDL required (Class A is a plus).
\n
• Tanker endorsement preferred.
\n
• Hazmat endorsement preferred.
\n
• Willingness to obtain endorsements—support will be provided.
\n
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
\n

• Pay Rate: $24.50 
\n
• Sign-On Bonus: $4,500
\n

(Salary to be determined by the applicant’s experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.)
