Cybersecurity Systems Engineer

Salary: $100,000 - 140,000 per year Requirements:

  • We require a bachelors degree in Cybersecurity or a related discipline, along with 8+ years of progressively responsible Information Systems Security experience; additional experience may substitute for the degree.
  • We need substantial experience working through the Sponsors accreditation process and ICD 503 requirements, particularly in building A&A Body of Evidence documentation.
  • We require significant hands-on experience meeting security requirements, implementing controls, and performing vulnerability scanning in the Sponsors environment or a similar setting.
  • We need experience operating across large teams to advance security priorities while supporting complex, interconnected systems, data flows, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • We require experience mapping complex networks and producing documentation for security compliance, configuration management, and centralized authentication.
  • We need experience creating, maintaining, and communicating detailed IT documentation, especially related to Zero Trust principles and data system security.
  • We require DoD 8140 (formerly 8570) baseline certification, such as Security+, CySA+, or CISSP.
  • Preferred: CISSP or CCSP certification.
  • Preferred: Experience with cyber risk and compliance automation tools such as eMASS or an equivalent platform.
  • Preferred: Experience supporting USSOCOM, DoD, or Intelligence Community environments, including familiarity with the DoD Data Strategy (VAULTIS) and cloud security in AWS/Azure.
  • Clearance: We require an active Secret clearance and the ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI.
  • Physical requirements: We require the ability to remain stationary 50% of the time, occasionally move within the office, communicate frequently with coworkers, management, and customers, and exchange accurate information in those interactions.
Responsibilities:
  • We design and implement cybersecurity controls across cloud, hybrid, and mission system environments, including identity, access control, and monitoring.
  • We create, update, and maintain Body of Evidence documentation, RMF/ATO artifacts, and security control records in line with ICD 503 and NIST RMF.
  • We maintain and perform routine vulnerability scanning, log analysis, and security event reviews across all systems.
  • We keep system baselines and configuration management items current to ensure systems are hardened and compliant with DISA STIGs.
  • We integrate security into CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps workflows using automated scanning, policy enforcement, and Infrastructure as Code.
  • We implement and enforce Zero Trust principles, identity-centric access controls such as RBAC/ABAC, and data protection aligned with the DoD Data Strategy (VAULTIS).
  • We collaborate with stakeholders to ensure systems are complete, secure, and ready to support rapid deployment of AI/ML workloads.
