Work Environment\nThis is a full-time position that offers the flexibility of a remote work setting, allowing you to conduct virtual session through our telehealth platform. Our innovative approach enables you to reach patients from the comfort of their homes, making mental health services more accessible. You will typically work Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with occasional evening shifts as needed to meet patient requirements.
Key Responsibilities\n- \n
- Conduct initial assessments and ongoing evaluations to identify the psychological, emotional, and social needs of individuals seeking treatment for substance use disorders. \n
- Develop detailed, personalized treatment plans that incorporate evidence-based interventions, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and motivational interviewing strategies. \n
- Facilitate individual counseling sessions, focusing on rebuilding self-efficacy and enhancing coping strategies. \n
- Lead group therapy sessions to foster a supportive community where patients can share their experiences and learn from each other. \n
- Collaborate closely with physicians, psychiatrists, and other members of the healthcare team for integrated treatment strategies and to coordinate care effectively. \n
- Provide crisis intervention during emergency situations related to substance use issues, ensuring patient safety and support. \n
- Educate patients and their families on the nature of addiction, various recovery strategies, and available community resources for ongoing support. \n
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records, complying with all relevant legal and ethical guidelines. \n
- Engage actively in team meetings, sharing insights and discussing cases to enhance team cohesion and treatment effectiveness. \n
- Stay informed about the latest research and best practices in substance use disorder treatment by pursuing continuing education opportunities. \n
The therapist will primarily work with individuals suffering from substance use disorders, ranging from alcohol and opioid dependency to other forms of addiction. This patient population often faces various co-occurring mental health challenges, making an empathetic, holistic approach essential to their recovery journey.
Qualifications\n- \n
- A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is mandatory. \n
- Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LCSW-R, LMHC, or LMFT in the state of New York. \n
- Thorough understanding of addiction, evidence-based treatment modalities, and the principles of recovery-oriented care. \n
- Experience providing both individual and group therapy in a substance use context is strongly preferred. \n
- Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a compassionate and non-judgmental approach to patient care. \n
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries and adhere to ethical guidelines in a therapeutic context. \n
- Proficient use of electronic health record (EHR) systems and general computer applications for documentation and patient management. \n
- Capacity to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team dedicated to patient welfare. \n

- Experience with telehealth models and virtual counseling platforms is a plus, given the remote nature of this role. \n
- Familiarity with community resources, advocacy, and support systems for patients and their families. \n
The annual salary for this position ranges from USD 115,000 to 130,000, with opportunities for performance-based bonuses and a sign-on bonus for qualified candidates.
