Pediatric Dental Assistant (EFDA) – American Pediatric Dental Group is seeking a skilled and compassionate assistant to join our dental team. The EFDA will provide high‑quality patient care, assist the dentist during procedures, and perform expanded functions as allowed by state regulations. The ideal candidate will have excellent technical skills, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to patient satisfaction. Schedule Mon: 9:30‑1:30 pm / 2:30‑6:30 pm Tue: 8:30‑1 pm / 2‑5 pm Wed: 8:30‑1 pm / 2‑5 pm Thu: 9:30‑1:30 pm / 2:30‑6:30 pm Fri: 8:30‑1 pm / 2‑5 pm Sat: 8:30 am to 1 pm Key Responsibilities – Clinical Assistance Assist the dentist during restorative, endodontic, and surgical treatments. Prepare and maintain dental instruments, equipment, and materials needed for patient care. Ensure a clean, sterile environment by following infection‑control protocols. Expanded Functions Place and contour restorations, take impressions, and apply sealants as permitted by state law. Conduct preliminary charting and take dental radiographs (X‑rays). Patient Care Greet and prepare patients for treatment. Provide instructions for oral care after surgery or other procedures. Educate patients on proper oral‑hygiene techniques to maintain oral health. Administrative Duties Maintain accurate patient records and document all treatments. Schedule and confirm appointments. Manage inventory of supplies and place orders. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. State dental assistant certification, including nitrous oxide, dental radiology, and EFDA or EDDA as required by the state. CPR certification. Bilingual preferred but not required. Proficiency with PCs and software; experience with Microsoft Windows, Office, fax machine, copy machine, and general office equipment. Working Conditions / Physical Demands Dental office environment. Travel between assigned offices if needed. Attendance at office meetings, continuing education events, and morning huddles. Work hours vary based on office schedule and business needs.
