Description Financial Counselor We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Financial Counselor to join our dedicated healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be committed to providing excellent service and guidance to patients during often challenging financial situations. Key Responsibilities: Assist patients in understanding their insurance coverage, payment options, and available financial assistance programs. Educate patients about their financial responsibilities related to their care. Support patients in enrolling in Medicaid, sliding fee scales, and other community resources. Collaborate with healthcare providers and administrative staff to facilitate smooth financial processes. Maintain accurate and confidential patient financial records. Stay informed about changes in insurance policies, government programs, and community resources relevant to patient care. Skills and Qualifications: Proven experience in financial counseling, social work, or related healthcare support roles. Strong understanding of insurance plans, Medicaid, and financial assistance programs. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate approach. Ability to explain complex financial information clearly and empathetically. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills. Knowledge of healthcare billing, coding, and patient financial services is preferred. High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certification in social work, healthcare administration, or related fields is a plus.
