About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Med Surg Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 1.5 years License: RN License Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: - EKG interpretation and critical thinking skills - Ability to manage discharges and admissions - Basic cardiac drip knowledge Description: Orientation is bi-weekly. The facility has 294 beds and is Joint Commission Accredited. The hospital offers cancer care, cardiac care, orthopedics, imaging, surgical services, and more. The facility is located 45 miles east of a major city and 2 hours from the coast. It is 1 hour from several major universities. The area is home to a historic stadium and is a short drive from a local lake. The unit is a telemetry floor and the number of beds is 22. Patient ratios are 5:1 or 6:1. Equipment includes Welch Allyn V/S machines, Hoyer Lifts with weight scales, Abbott Glucometers, Computers on Wheels, TR bands, and Baxter IV pumps. The electronic health record system used is Meditech. Supervision is provided by a Clinical Staff Lead or Charge Nurse. The patient population includes adults and geriatrics. The preferred personality fit includes being team-oriented and flexible. The required education is an Associate degree, with a BSN preferred. Scrub color is not assigned, and artificial nails are not permitted.
