Special Education Paraprofessional

The Special Education Paraprofessional provides instructional, behavioral, and daily support to students with disabilities while working closely with the special education teacher and classroom teacher to meet individual student needs.

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide small-group and individual instruction and support to students.
• Provide push-in and pull-out support based on student needs and special education plans.
• Reteach lessons and skills following the special education teachers' lesson plans and direction.
• During push-in support classroom teachers with instruction, classroom routines, and student needs.
• Assist students in accessing and participating in classroom activities and assignments.
• Monitor, track, and collect student progress-monitoring data as directed by the special education teachers.
• Supervise and support students during lunch, recess, transitions, and academics.
• Assist students with personal care needs, including diapering/toileting and other hygiene needs, when necessary.
• Provide positive behavioral and social-emotional support to students and chart tracking.
• Maintain confidentiality and communicate appropriately with teachers, staff, and families.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support student learning and success.
