Switcher Driver (Yard Spotter Driver) Full Time DeLand, FL, US 30+ days ago Requisition ID: 1239 OVERVIEW The primary role of this position is to support on‑campus movement of trailers, tankers, flat beds, and any other movements of product between plants. CDL Required. RESPONSIBILITIES AND RESULTS Performs pre‑trip inspections on vehicle and reports any problems to the onsite maintenance department and/or takes equipment to the shop for repairs. DVIR required. Ensure trucks are fueled. Responsible for keeping the truck and trailers clean and organized. Transport loads to Country Pure Foods from assigned destination. Ensure load has the proper paperwork as to what is being transferred. Occasionally transfer non‑perishable items such as packaging supplies, equipment, etc. from plant to plant. Other duties as assigned. Will be required to present for random DOT screens. QUALIFICATIONS Education High school graduate or equivalent Class A CDL required Work Experience One year manufacturing experience desirable Two years CDL driving experience required Skills and Knowledge Ability to read, interpret and follow written job instructions. Ability to work safely and follow all safety procedures & report safety violations. Ability to follow and comply with quality standards. Ability to comprehend and comply with GMP rules and Food Safety guidelines. Required to obtain company‑issued forklift certification Ability to work as contributing member within the team. Ability to frequently lift/move material weighing up to 50 pounds. Ability to operate a PC (keyboard/mouse) and respond to emails. Constant mental and visual alertness (including peripheral vision and depth perception) required to avoid serious injury to self and others and to perform quality functions of position. Color vision may be required to perform quality function of position. Eye, hearing, hair nets, bump hats, lab coats may be required.
