Job Overview and QualificationsThe Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) is responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-focused care and overseeing all unit functions during assigned shifts. Working alongside other management team members, the CNC directs, assesses, and evaluates nursing care in line with established policies and procedures. This role also serves as a resource for staff and exemplifies a commitment to the organization’s mission and values, fostering an exceptional patient experience and clinical outcomes that enhance overall departmental performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitates admission and discharge processes to promote efficient patient flow and high-quality, patient-centered care.
- Engages in continuous evaluation of the quality of patient care services in collaboration with the management team.
- Works with subject matter experts and fellow managers to cultivate a teamwork-oriented environment that drives improved outcomes and service quality.
- Advocates for a patient-first approach and participates in service recovery when necessary.
- Contributes to enhancing staff engagement by implementing current nursing strategies, including employee rounding and hourly check-ins.
- Provides input on the recruitment, selection, and training of new staff. Recommends and executes actions related to training, conflict resolution, personnel policy adherence, performance evaluations, and disciplinary measures to ensure a competitive organization.
- Assists in staff scheduling and manages labor aspects in accordance with patient care needs and established productivity standards.
- Ensures proper inventory management and assists in overseeing supplies and equipment.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 90 days of starting employment.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be acquired within 30 days of starting employment.
- NIH Stroke Scale certification must be obtained within 90 days of starting employment.
- Registered Nurse (RN) license is required.
- Associate Degree, Bachelor’s Degree, or a Registered Nurse Diploma is necessary.
- No travel is required.
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience is required.
