Responsibilities The Biomed Technician I performs maintenance and repair duties under close supervision of BSI management. The Biomed Technician I is the front‑line employee who is most visible to the clinician utilizing the patient care equipment included in the Medical Equipment Management Program. The employee supports patient diagnosing and treatment by installing, testing, calibrating, and repairing biomedical equipment while maintaining safe operations. The technician will regularly need to be available to work after hours and be scheduled for an on‑call rotating schedule. The employee also ensures that the biomedical equipment is in compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and quality control standards, and relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Qualifications Education, Experience, Training Associate degree in Biomedical Engineering or related discipline with 0–1 years’ experience or equivalent combination of education/experience preferred. Knowledge of TJC, DNV, HFAP, CAP, NFPA, CMS, HIPAA, and other applicable standards and regulations preferred. High degree of self‑motivation, commitment, and integrity. Must exhibit a positive attitude and willingness to learn. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong computer skills (MS Office, clinical applications, CMMS systems). Ability to troubleshoot, read schematics and/or blueprints. Field‑related technical certifications (e.g., A+, CBET, CCE or CHTM) preferred. Valid driver’s license required upon first 60 days of hire. The estimated total compensation for this role ranges from $25.00 to $34.91 per hour. The exact starting compensation will be determined at the time of hiring, considering factors such as skill set, years of experience, education, credentials and licensure.
