About the Role
Rikka Law PLLC is seeking an experienced Federal Paralegal / Business Support Specialist to support a federal agency client in Washington, DC. This is a full-time, on-site contract position supporting the Office of Chief Counsel at a U.S. Department of Transportation component agency. The role requires strong litigation support skills, experience with federal ethics compliance programs, and the ability to provide high-level executive administrative support with discretion and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct legal research and draft litigation documents including briefs, motions, and discovery responses
- Manage litigation calendars and track court deadlines
- Administer the agency's ethics program including FDOnline system management and OGE-450 financial disclosure tracking
- Support executive calendar management for senior agency counsel
- Coordinate with legal and administrative staff to ensure seamless office operations
- Track and report on internal RCC assignments and deadlines
- Submit monthly summary reports per contract requirements
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of paralegal experience in a litigation environment
- Demonstrated experience with legal research, drafting discovery responses, and managing litigation calendars
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Suite, Google Workspace, Adobe, and at least one e-discovery/document management platform (EverLaw or similar)
- Ability to pass a federal background investigation (NACI or higher) and obtain a DOT PIV card
- U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent resident status required
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior federal government paralegal or contractor experience
- Familiarity with OGE-450 filings, FDOnline, or federal ethics compliance programs
- Experience supporting senior executives in a legal or government environment
Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm ET | On-site at DOT HQ, Washington, DC
