Senior Software Engineer

Location Location: This role is based in New York City (HQ) with typically 4+ days per week in the office. Responsibilities Lead complex technical projects from ideation and design through production and deployment, for example, tune the dispatch algorithm to drive shift fill rate improvements, build better onboarding experiences to increase worker conversion, and more. Design, architect, and build highly-performant and reliable technical features, tools, and services using Node.js, React/React Native, Mongo, Python, GCP, Javascript. Drive the technical vision, influence product strategy, and conduct regular technical reviews. Monitor and maintain the performance of our product and platform in a high user volume, two-sided marketplace environment to resolve issues and clear the shift marketplace. Serve as a mentor for junior engineers and participate in scaling our team. Qualifications Core competency with our tech stack: Python, Javascript/Typescript, Node.js, React Native and more. Software expert: 4+ years of software engineering experience, core competency with our tech stack (Python, Javascript, NodeJS), eager to learn and experiment with new technologies. Collaborator and teammate: enjoy working cross-functionally with leadership, PMs, designers, and engineers to build products across a modern tech stack (MERN) to solve complex problems. Outcome oriented: understand the business context and how your technical work translates into real-world business outcomes. Builder: entrepreneur at heart, create clarity in ambiguity, take initiative to own the outcome without waiting to be told. Compensation Philosophy Base salary ranges are based on role and level benchmarked against similar high-growth companies. Offers are determined based on skills, experience, and relevant credentials.
