As a valued member of our team, the Maintenance Truck Tech III is required to perform all duties of the level 1 and level 2 technician. In addition, should show proficiency in one of the two major skill level categories and about 60% proficiency in another category. Category 1 includes internal repairs on engines, transmissions, and gear boxes. Category 2 includes electronic control modules and sensors complex electrical and after treatment repairs./ppPay Range: Tech III: $34-$41/ppTravel Required: Estimated less than 25%/ppBenefits:/pulliPaid Holidays/liliPaid Vacation/liliMedical, Dental, Vision/lili401k Retirement/lili$100 credit for boots after 90 days/liliUniforms provided/liliTool allowance when applicable/liliMonthly credit for cellphone use/li/ulpResponsibilities:/pulliAppropriate tools required to diagnose, perform major repairs in vehicles and to effectively do inspections and routine preventive services./liliAble to use compressed gas torch and adjustments./liliEffectively do inspections and mechanical repairs to equipment and routine preventive services./liliEfficient communication and computer skills for proper file documentation on each job performed./liliKnowledge and ability to identify the proper name of all visible parts and non-visible parts in a vehicle./liliMaintain a high standard of safety, cleanliness, and efficiency in all maintenance./liliEnsures vehicles meet CHP/BIT/PM inspection requirements./liliWill maintain appropriate record keeping for Bit inspections, DVIRs, work done description and work orders./liliReplace, install and service brake systems, cab and sheet metal components, engine accessories, HVAC systems, hydraulic systems, and lighting electrical systems./liliReplace, install and service mixer truck equipment, product transfer systems, starting systems, steering systems, transmissions, wheels, hubs and bearings./liliReplace, install frame components and basic diagnose of electronic control systems./liliReplace, install, service and diagnose charging systems, clutches and drive lines, and suspension systems./liliWill inspect and identify vehicle conditions on different types of equipment such as tractors, trailers, or mixers./liliWill install, select, or identify proper tire replacements legal limit knowledge./liliDiagnose and repair vehicle system engine failure and vehicle system transmission gear box failure./liliFollow manufacture service and troubleshooting procedures, diagnose and repair vehicle system./liliDiagnose and repair vehicle Aftertreatment systems, Advance Electrical systems, Air brake system and brake valve diagnose./liliDiagnose and repair vehicle Hydraulic system failure./liliDiagnose and repair HVAC failure diagnose./liliComplete all maintenance duties as assigned, and repair all equipment on property including, but not limited to, diesel, plant, or yard equipment./liliPerform routine and preventive maintenance to keep vehicles and equipment in compliance with DOT and company standards./li/ulpMinimum Education and Experience:/pulliHigh school diploma./lili4+ years of heavy-duty tractor maintenance experience./lili4+ years experience of work on electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems./liliMust have own tools./li/ulpPreferred Education and Experience:/pulliAssociates degree, technical school certificate or equivalent experience./lili5+ years of heavy-duty tractor maintenance experience./lili5+ years experience of work on electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems./lili3+ years experience welding./li/ulpOther Duties Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
