divh2Senior Coordinator, Financial Counseling/h2pThe Senior Coordinator, Financial Counseling is responsible for supporting patients and providers by ensuring accurate financial clearance, patient education, and identification of financial risk prior to services being rendered. This role plays a critical part in the Revenue Cycle by improving reimbursement outcomes, minimizing financial risk, and enhancing the patient experience through proactive and transparent financial communication./ph3Key Responsibilities/h3ulliFinancial Counseling Patient Support/liulliReview daily schedules to identify patients requiring financial clearance./liliEducate patients on expected financial responsibility, including deductibles, copayments, coinsurance, and out-of-pocket maximums./liliProvide clear, compassionate communication regarding treatment costs and payment expectations prior to TOS./liliAssist patients in understanding their financial obligations prior to services./li/ulliFinancial Risk Identification/liulliEvaluate potential financial risks associated with scheduled services, including coverage limitations, medical necessity concerns, frequency limitations, and out of network benefits and coverages./liliProactively identify accounts that may result in patient balance or denied claims./liliEscalate high-risk accounts to leadership or appropriate teams for review./li/ulliDenials Prevention Support/liulliCollaborate with clinical and administrative teams to reduce the risk of claim denials./liliSupport resolution of pre-service financial issues that may impact reimbursement./liliAssist in identifying trends related to financial risk and patient responsibility./li/ulliDocumentation Compliance/liulliMaintain accurate documentation of all financial discussions with patients./liliEnsure all notes are clear, complete, and compliant with organizational standards./liliProtect patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA standards./li/ulliCollaboration Communication/liulliWork closely with clinical and administrative teams to ensure alignment on patient financial readiness./liliCommunicate effectively with internal teams to support accurate and timely revenue cycle processes./liliProvide exceptional customer service with empathy, professionalism, and respect./li/ulliOperational Excellence/liulliManage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment./liliDemonstrate strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills./liliMaintain consistent attendance, punctuality, and teamwork./liliSupport additional duties and projects as they are assigned./li/ul/ulh3Qualifications/h3ulliMinimum of 4 years of experience in a healthcare business office or revenue cycle role preferred/liliStrong knowledge of insurance and benefits and patient Financial Assistance Programs/liliStrong understanding of oncology treatment pathways/liliFamiliarity with high-cost oncology drugs, infusion services and specialty pharmacy billing preferred/liliWorking knowledge of diagnosis driven financial impact (metastatic vs early stage treatment cost difference) preferred/liliExperience with billing systems and interpreting EOBs/liliProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite/liliStrong organizational, analytical, and communication skills/liliAbility to navigate multiple systems with ease, i.e. EMR, Registration/PMS systems, VOB systems, verifying Auth and Financial clearance with minimal direction from supervisor(s) and leadership./liliCritical thinking and ability to think outside the box, adapt to process and workflow changes easily./liliExperience in oncology or specialty care preferred/liliWorking knowledge of: ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding, managed care concepts and fee structures/liliBackground in financial counseling or patient-facing financial roles/li/ulh3What is expected of you and others at this level/h3ulliEffectively applies knowledge of job and company policies and procedures to complete a variety of assignments/liliIn-depth knowledge in technical or specialty area/liliApplies advanced skills to resolve complex problems independently/liliMay modify process to resolve situations/liliWorks independently within established procedures; may receive general guidance on new assignments/liliMay provide general guidance or technical assistance to less experienced team members/li/ulpAnticipated hourly range: $21.00 - $33.00/ppBonus eligible: No/ppBenefits: Cardinal Health offers a wide variety of benefits and programs to support health and well-being./pulliMedical, dental and vision coverage/liliPaid time off plan/liliHealth savings account (HSA)/lili401k savings plan/liliAccess to wages before pay day with myFlexPay/liliFlexible spending accounts (FSAs)/liliShort- and long-term disability coverage/liliWork-Life resources/liliPaid parental leave/liliHealthy lifestyle programs/li/ulpApplication window anticipated to close: 5/15/2026 *if interested in opportunity, please submit application as soon as possible./ppThe hourly range listed is an estimate.
