Quality Inspector - CMM/Romer Arm Programmer/Operator

Quality Inspector with Coordinate Measurement Machine (CMM) and portable arm experience is needed to join Leidos’ Platform Integration Facility. The role involves verifying that machined, fabricated, and assembled hardware meets specified drawing/CAD model requirements using CMM / Portable Arm, hand measuring tools, and gages. The candidate will work in a fast‑paced environment with minimal supervision and will collaborate closely with engineers to understand requirements and interpret data. Responsibilities Verify machined, fabricated, and assembled hardware against drawing and CAD model specifications using CMM, portable arm, and hand measuring instruments. Populate handwritten or computer‑generated inspection reports. Communicate findings and recommendations within a team environment. Work full‑time with minimal supervision and adjust priorities based on workflow. Support quality inspections at other sites as needed. Lifting and carrying up to 35 lbs. Work with non‑conforming material, perform failure analysis, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions. Basic Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent with 3–5 years of CMM experience. Strong knowledge of reading and interpreting drawings and GD&T. Proficiency with micrometers, height gauges, gauge blocks, radius gauges, calipers, etc. Experience using PC‑DMIS, SolidWorks Inspection, PolyWorks Metrology Suite, and Spatial Analyzer software is a plus. Computer skills: Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, etc. Experience in an AS9100 Aerospace and Defense manufacturing environment is a plus. Ability to communicate effectively within a team. Experience with complex aerospace hardware. Other Qualifications Resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville‑North Alabama, AL area. Candidates with precision measurement experience of complex aerospace hardware are desired. Security Requirements US Citizen who is a Final Secret Clearance holder or eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
