Registered Nurse - ICU

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide specialized critical care nursing to patients in the ICU, ensuring optimal outcomes through expert assessment and intervention. This role demands advanced skills in managing complex conditions and utilizing specialized equipment.

Responsibilities:

• Administer comprehensive patient care, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and managing ICU-specific equipment.
• Operate and troubleshoot advanced clinical devices such as CRRT (Prismaflex or NxStage), ventricular monitors, and ICP monitoring systems.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans for ICU patients.
• Document patient progress accurately using the EPIC electronic medical record system.
• Respond rapidly to patient emergencies, such as sepsis, neuro interventions, or cardiogenic shock.
• Maintain compliance with hospital protocols, certifications, and licensing requirements.

Qualifications:

• Hold active NY RN license and meet all state licensing requirements.
• Possess at least 2 years of ICU experience; 4-5 years preferred.
• Demonstrate proficiency with critical care equipment, including CRRT, ventilators, and ICP monitors.
• Maintain current certifications in ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS.
• Have valid driver's license with address matching demographics if required for float assignments.
• Exhibit strong critical thinking and ability to work efficiently in high-pressure situations.
