Position Summary

As a Cook, you help translate Nemacolin's culinary standards into consistently well-executed food. You prepare menu items professionally, maintain an organized and properly equipped station, manage inventory and ordering, and uphold departmental standards for quality, timing, safety, and sanitation. Your work directly supports a smooth kitchen operation and a memorable dining experience for every guest.

What You Will Create

• Consistent, high-quality menu execution by preparing assigned items according to established menus, quality standards, and timing expectations
• A service-ready culinary station by maintaining equipment, cleanliness, organization, and the proper supplies needed for efficient production
• Reliable inventory and product availability by taking inventory and placing orders for your assigned station while supporting responsible kitchen operations
• A safe and professional kitchen environment by operating knives and kitchen equipment proficiently, reporting equipment or safety concerns immediately, and following all departmental and company procedures
• Efficient execution during high-volume service by managing competing priorities, performing repetitive tasks accurately, and using sound problem-solving when challenges involving employees or guests arise
• A collaborative culinary team by communicating effectively, contributing suggestions during employee meetings, supporting coworkers, and completing additional responsibilities delegated by leadership

What You Can Expect

• Work in a fast-paced culinary environment where quality, timing, organization, and consistency are essential
• Prepare food while working with basic kitchen equipment, sharp knives, and a range of physical demands throughout the shift
• Collaborate with coworkers and leadership while maintaining a positive, professional approach to daily service and changing priorities
• Work in environments that may involve extreme heat or cold, and, when applicable, outdoor conditions including sun, heat, cold, wind, rain, and elevated noise levels
• Manage a schedule that may include days, early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Build your culinary experience in a luxury hospitality environment, with exposure to the standards and operational expectations of a four- or five-star property

What You Bring

• Relevant culinary training and experience in a hotel, resort, or quality restaurant environment
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced operation
• Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work efficiently with a variety of people
• A positive attitude, adaptability, and willingness to respond effectively to organizational and environmental changes

• Pride in maintaining cleanliness, organization, quality, timing, and professional standards

Qualifications

• Mid Grade Cook within the established tier structure
• Relevant culinary qualification and experience in a hotel, resort, or quality restaurant
• Experience in a four- or five-star property is desired
• ServSafe certification preferred
• Proficiency with Windows XP and Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal
• Ability to work days, early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to report to work as scheduled, neatly groomed, in a clean uniform, and in accordance with the company Dress Code Policy
• Ability to kneel, crouch, squat, climb, stand, sit, balance, reach, bend, push, pull, and walk for prolonged periods
• Ability to lift, carry, pull, and push up to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout a shift
• Ability to work for extended periods in extreme heat and/or cold
• When applicable, ability to work extended periods outdoors in sun, heat, cold, wind, rain, and higher-than-normal noise levels
• Ability to safely and proficiently use sharp knives and operate basic kitchen equipment
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately
• May be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and fume hazards
• No visible body piercing or unnatural hair color or hairstyles, in accordance with company grooming standards
