Responsibilities
- Assess patients upon arrival, participate in triage, and determine priorities for care per ED standards.
- Provide direct nursing care in the emergency department, including administration of treatments, monitoring, and procedures appropriate to life-threatening and routine emergencies.
- Conduct primary and secondary patient assessments, reassess responses to treatment, and adjust care plans as needed.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care, communicate effectively with patients and families, and teach self-care and discharge instructions.
- Maintain accurate documentation, uphold infection prevention practices, and ensure patient safety and comfort throughout the ED stay.

Requirements
- Current, active NYS Registered Nurse licensure
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and Stroke Certification (AHA or RQI)
- Minimum two years of acute hospital RN experience, including at least one year in an ED environment
- Ability to work in a high-volume ED with rotating day/night shifts and on-call requirements (2 on-call shifts in 4 weeks)
- Demonstrated ability to provide compassionate, patient- and family-centered care across all ages
