Research Associate position, Division of Endocrinology,Diabetes, and Metabolism Location: Philadelphia, PA Open Date: Sep 23, 2026 Deadline: Sep 23, 2028 at 11:59 PM Eastern Time The Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism in theDepartment of Medicine at thePerelman School of Medicine at theUniversity of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for a ResearchAssociate position in the Academic Support Staff. This appointmentwill be initially for one (1) year and continuation during thattime period and renewal are based on satisfactory performance andavailability of funding (limited to three (3) years). Expertise isrequired in the specific area of nuclear receptor signaling,including PPARα and HNF4α, hepatic lipid metabolism, geneticregulation of metabolism, circadian biology, epigenetic andtranscriptomic data analysis, and metabolic disease research usinggenetically engineered mouse models and advanced genomicapproaches. Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree. Responsibilities may include conducting independent andcollaborative research on the role of nuclear receptors, includingPPARα and HNF4α, in hepatic lipid metabolism and metabolic disease;analyzing epigenomic and transcriptomic datasets generated fromgenetically engineered mouse models; investigating mechanismsunderlying circadian regulation in the liver and the role of thehepatic vagus nerve in maintaining circadian rhythms; contributingto experimental design, data interpretation, manuscriptpreparation, and presentation of research findings; andcollaborating with laboratory members on related researchprojects. The successful applicant will have an opportunity to developadvanced expertise in metabolic disease research, genomic andepigenomic data analysis, circadian biology, and nuclear receptorsignaling. The position provides training and mentorship inexperimental design, data interpretation, scientific communication,and collaborative research, supporting the individual's long-termcareer development in academic biomedical research.
