Senior Project Surveyor (PLS)Location: Rancho Cucamonga, CA or Sacramento, CAWork Arrangement: Hybrid (2 days in-office / 3 days remote after onboarding)Compensation: Up to $180,000 depending on experience and qualifications.About the OpportunityAn established California engineering and geospatial consulting firm is seeking a Senior Project Surveyor to support land surveying and mapping projects throughout the state. This role is ideal for a licensed Professional Land Surveyor who enjoys a blend of technical project delivery, staff mentorship, client interaction, and project coordination.The position is primarily office-based with little to no routine field work and offers long-term growth opportunities within a well-established organization.ResponsibilitiesLead surveying and mapping projects from planning through deliveryReview and process field-collected survey dataPrepare and oversee: Boundary surveys, ALTA surveys, Topographic surveys and mapping, Legal descriptions, Construction staking exhibitsPerform and review survey calculations and quality control proceduresCoordinate project schedules, budgets, and deliverablesProvide technical guidance and mentorship to junior survey staffSupport proposal development and fee estimatesBuild and maintain strong client relationshipsRequired QualificationsActive California Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) licenseStrong AutoCAD Civil 3D experience7+ years of land surveying experienceExperience with boundary surveys, topographic mapping, and legal descriptionsStrong office surveying and project delivery backgroundAbility to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneouslyExcellent communication and problem-solving skillsPreferred QualificationsLSIT certification prior to obtaining PLSExperience with Trimble software and workflowsExperience with MicroStationUtility, transportation, infrastructure, or public works project experienceExperience mentoring survey staff or leading project teamsWhy Consider This Opportunity?Hybrid work schedule after onboardingMinimal travel requirementsPrimarily office-based roleOpportunity to serve as a technical leader within a growing survey groupCompetitive compensation and benefits packageExposure to a diverse portfolio of infrastructure, land development, and surveying projectsJob Type & Location: This is a Permanent position based out of Rancho Cucamonga, CA.Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $180000.00/yr.
