The Facilities Specialist is responsible for supporting the maintenance and operational integrity of our clinic network across Central and Southwest Florida. This full-time position requires extensive regional travel and a commitment to off-hours availability and emergency response across 15+ locations spanning from Fort Myers to Orlando to Gainesville. Candidates must be self-directed, reliable, and capable of managing facility needs independently across a broad geographic area.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform general handyman and maintenance tasks including minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall repair, painting, minor appliance install, etc.
• Travel across a multi-site region (Fort Myers, Orlando, Gainesville, and surrounding areas) to perform repairs, inspections, and scheduled maintenance
• Conduct routine inspections of assigned clinic locations to proactively identify and address maintenance needs
• Respond promptly to emergency facility situations outside of normal business hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Coordinate with and escort third-party contractors and vendors during service visits to clinic operations
• Maintain inventory of tools, parts, and supplies; ensure vehicles and equipment are ready for deployment
• Assist with minor office moves, furniture assembly/installation, and space setup as needed
• Document all maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections accurately and in a timely manner
• Participate in an on-call rotation and be reachable and responsive during assigned on-call periods

Requirements

Qualifications Required:

• 13 years of experience in facilities maintenance, building operations, or a related trade
• Demonstrated handyman skills across multiple disciplines (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, etc.)
• Valid drivers license with a clean driving record; comfortable driving long distances across the region
• Willingness and ability to travel extensively throughout Central and Southwest Florida on short notice
• Full availability for off-hours, weekend, and emergency on-call response this is a firm requirement of the role
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Excellent communication skills for coordinating across clinic staff and management remotely
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks including bending, kneeling, and working at heights

Preferred:

• Experience working in a healthcare, medical office, or multi-site environment
• Familiarity with Southwest and Central Florida
• Knowledge of HVAC systems, fire suppression systems, or building automation
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 workplace safety, very commonly required in facilities roles

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

• Work is performed across 15+ clinic locations throughout Central and Southwest Florida
• Must be comfortable working in occupied medical office settings with minimal disruption to patients and staff
• Significant driving required; candidate should be comfortable with frequent regional travel
• Standing, walking, and physical labor for extended periods required
