Job Opportunity: Pediatric Pulmonologist

The Pediatric Pulmonology Division, part of the Department of Pediatrics at our organization, is seeking a dedicated Pediatric Pulmonologist to enhance our team. Applicants should be fellowship-trained and board certified or eligible in pediatric pulmonology.

About the Division

• Comprises 2 Pediatric Pulmonologists
• Includes 2 Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioners (NPs)
• Delivers both inpatient and outpatient consultative services
• Covers a 24-county area, which includes:
  • Upstate New York
  • Western Massachusetts
  • Western Vermont

Our division features multidisciplinary clinics focusing on neuromuscular conditions, aerodigestive issues, and a monthly BPD Clinic for NICU graduates. We proudly host the only accredited Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Center in the region, recognized nationally for our quality improvement efforts and acknowledged by the local chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation for our involvement in community events.

CF Center Team

The CF Center is supported by a comprehensive care team that includes:

• Pharmacists
• Dietitian
• Child-life specialist
• Mental health coordinator
• Case manager
• Respiratory therapist
• Nurse coordinator
• NPs and physicians

Additionally, we are supported by the Donna Crandall Foundation, which provides groceries at each visit and financial assistance for families affected by CF.

Clinical Facilities

• Fully equipped Pulmonary Function Laboratory
• Office-based flexible laryngoscopy equipment
• Flexible bronchoscopy performed under anesthesia

Our division collaborates closely with other specialists within the Department of Pediatrics to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care for patients at the Bernard & Millie Duker Children's Hospital. We work alongside faculty in critical care, neonatology, hospital medicine, and various subspecialties. Faculty and staff also provide mentorship to medical students in their 3rd and 4th years at Albany Medical College, as well as to advanced practice students from local institutions.

Compensation

The competitive salary range for the assistant professor position is between $195,000 and $206,000, with additional incentive bonuses available. The rank and salary will be determined based on experience.
