About this Role Open Road Impact is seeking a mid-level Investment Officer to join their dynamic team. This role involves sourcing, underwriting, recommending, and managing loans, focusing on bridge and working capital loans. The successful candidate will have 4-6 years of experience in finance, particularly within emerging markets and impact investing. This position is integral to managing Open Road’s growing applicant pipeline and building a personal portfolio of bridge loans. The Investment Officer will act as the primary point of contact for qualified applicants, spearheading business development, origination, due diligence, and relationship management processes. Additionally, the responsibility includes supporting post-investment portfolio management and contributing to the development of strategic industry partnerships. Responsibilities Maintain a robust pipeline through proactive sourcing of potential borrowers. Serve as the primary contact for qualified applicants, managing relationships and shepherding them through the application process. Underwrite 10-12 loans annually, conducting financial analysis and structuring transactions. Conduct research and compile briefings on prospective borrowers and partners. Build relationships within the impact investing ecosystem and represent Open Road at industry events. Support post-investment portfolio management, maintaining communication with borrowers and assisting with the repayment process. Develop knowledge resources and document best practices for bridge financing products. Requirements Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree a plus. 4-6 years of relevant work experience in impact investing, finance, or consulting. Proven track record of closing investments and understanding investment instruments. Strong analytical skills and comfort with financial statements. Project management experience and proficiency with technology tools, including AI and project management systems.
