Are you a skilled advocate who can champion the rights and well-being of our valued elders? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you! Join our team as an Ombudsman Assistant.

As a Long-Term Care Ombudsman , you'll serve as a resident advocate, working directly with individuals in long-term care facilities to improve their quality of life and the care they receive. • Volunteer Program: You will have the opportunity to work with the local ombudsman in overseeing and implementing the Volunteer Ombudsman program, engaging passionate volunteers who share our vision.
  • Policy Advocacy: Under the guidance of the State Long-Term Care Ombudsman, you will identify areas for improvement in public policy, regulations, and laws to enhance the lives of long-term care residents.

Qualifications We Seek:

  • Education and Experience: A bachelor's degree or equivalent, along with at least one year's employment experience in social work, nursing, public health, geriatrics, administration, or a related field working with the elderly.
  • Passion for Advocacy: Demonstrated experience in long-term services and support, public policy advocacy, and a strong commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of older persons and individuals with disabilities.
  • Leadership and Problem-Solving Skills: We need someone who can take the initiative, lead community education efforts, and skillfully negotiate to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Knowledge: An understanding of long-term care issues and resources will be essential for this role.
  • Complete Idaho's Ombudsman Certification Course prior to participating in Ombudsman activities

Why Work with Us:

Join a team of dedicated individuals who are committed to making a difference in the lives of our elderly residents. You'll be part of a supportive environment that values your expertise and offers opportunities for professional growth.
