REPORTS TO : Associate Principal of Student Services
POSITION OBJECTIVE: The job of RTI Paraprofessional is done for the purpose/s of providing support to the instructional program with specific responsibility for assisting in the assessment of at-risk students' needs for Response to Intervention (RTI /RtI)) services and Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS); implementing the RtI/MTSS program strategies; monitoring and reporting student behavior and performance; and providing information to appropriate school personnel.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Illinois Paraprofessional License or Substitute License as required by ISBE
- Experience working successfully in a diverse, multicultural environment
REQUIRED SKILLS :
- Proficient in operating standard office equipment and using relevant software applications

- Capable of planning and managing projects effectively

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Instructional Support & Student Services
- Adapts classroom activities, assignments and/or materials in conjunction with the pupil service team for the purpose of supporting and reinforcing classroom objectives and implementing 504 accommodations.
- Assists students, individually or in small groups, for the purpose of practicing and/or reinforcing intervention strategies.
- Provides instruction to students in a variety of individual and group activities for the purpose of reinforcing instructional objectives; implementing 504 plans; and ensuring student success in school.
- Facilitates student learning for the purpose of achieving success in academic skills.
- Plan and provide students with executive functioning curriculum activities/lessons.
- Direct students on APEX (online) courses and verify course completion.
- Provides time-limited supervision for the purpose of providing a positive learning environment.
Student Monitoring, Assessment & Data Management
- Maintain and support student caseload academic progress and provide data to make recommendations regarding the efficacy of interventions.
- Prepare and plan student caseload and create weekly goals for grades and attendance.
- Maintain student attendance records.
- Administer tests and make-up tests.
- Reports observations and incidents relating to specific students, in support of the pupil service team, for the purpose of communicating information to appropriate instructional and/or administrative personnel.
Collaboration & Communication
- Collaborates with instructional staff, professional support personnel, and parents for the purpose of assisting in evaluating needs for and progress of RTI intervention strategies.
- Communicates with parents and teachers via emails, phone calls, and in-person meetings for the purpose of advising them of non-attendance issues, progress, or providing information on needed follow-up services.
- Supports pupil service team and other school personnel for the purpose of assisting them in the implementation of curriculum and integrating RTI intervention strategies.
Professional Responsibilities & Recordkeeping
- Attends meetings and in-service presentations for the purpose of acquiring and/or conveying information relative to job functions.
- Maintains manual and electronic files and records for the purpose of providing written reference and/or meeting mandated requirements.
- Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit pertaining to District 219.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT : 187 day calendar
WORKING CONDITIONS : The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 50% sitting, 25% walking, and 25% standing. This job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment.
SALARY RANGE : P1 with hourly bump for BA degree or higher
