In addition to personal injury matters, our firm is looking to expand our practice to include worker's compensation claims. While experience in handling these types of cases is not a requirement for applicants, we encourage those with background in both areas. We are offering an extremely generous compensation packages that awards those with PI and WC experience by giving them a percentage of all fees for cases worked on regardless of how the case got to our firm.

Responsibilities:

• Manage a docket of pre suit and litigated personal injury matters from intake through resolution

• Lead case strategy, liability and damages development, and settlement negotiations

• Draft pleadings, written discovery, motions, and briefs

• Take and defend depositions, prepare experts, and argue key motions

• Prepare cases for mediation, arbitration, and trial

• Try cases when appropriate and help build a trial ready culture

Requirements:

• Active North Carolina law license and good standing

• Personal injury experience for 5 years in NC.

• Five or more years handling personal injury litigation (auto, trucking, premises, wrongful death, or similar)

• Demonstrated trial experience as counsel of record or first chair experience preferred

• Strong deposition practice and motion work

• Ability to evaluate value, risk, liens, and coverage and to explain them clearly to clients

• Professional judgment, reliability, and a team oriented approach

• Worker's compensation experience is not required but priority will be given to applicants experienced in both areas.

Compensation and Benefits:

• 10% of all personal injury fees collected on any case you handle regardless of whether you brought them in the door or not

• 20% of all worker's compensation fees collected on any case you handle regardless of whether you brought them in the door or not
