Position Summary: We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a MRI Technician – Part Time (No Benefits) Outpatient Radiology – East Meadow. The successful candidate, under the direction of a Radiologist, operates Magnetic Resonance Imaging equipment to produce clinical diagnostic images and performs procedures according to established standards and practices, including patient identification, safety standards and completion of required forms before the patient leaves the zone area. Job Responsibilities: Accurately utilizes the PACS to make images available to the radiologist. Enters proper exam coding in the Radiology Information System and completes exams on time. Assists in the care and maintenance of facilities, equipment and supplies. Reports equipment problems. Instructs and supervises radiography students in clinical practicum. Operates MRI equipment to take diagnostic images as ordered and produces images for interpretation. Prepares and positions patients properly, providing clear instructions before beginning an exam. Ensures image quality meets departmental SOP guidelines. Practices safety protocols regarding patient and employee safety in the magnet field. Minimum Qualifications: Technical Diploma Graduate of an AMA approved school of Radiology or Imaging Services. New York State Radiologic Technologist License or Temp Permit. ARRT Advanced Certification in MRI required within 180 days of hire or transfer. Strong communication, problem‑solving, and customer service skills. Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Radiology or related health field. 1–2 years MRI technologist or training experience. Salary: $55.07 – $60.83 hourly.
