Apprentice - Fixed Plant Mechanic

Job Responsibilities:

• Responsible for learning and performing minor maintenance/operations activities independently, with minimal supervision, or support journeymen in their
• maintenance activities. 
• Attend required classroom training sessions. 
• Perform on-the-job training activities in appropriate discipline.  
• Perform safe operation of maintenance mobile equipment such as forklifts, stinger trucks and overhead and mobile cranes.  
• Perform work area and equipment safety inspections.  
• Perform other duties as required

Skills:

• Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards.
• Must pass the math qualifying test

Education/Experience:

• Must have completed academic and practical competencies required (this includes Line of Progression requirements for internal employees where LOP Exists) and have
• experience demonstrating the required aptitude. The selected candidate shall demonstrate the ability to apply knowledge and skills while also passing a written assessment
• where required. This exam is based on skills/abilities and/or academic knowledge, as well as safety.
