Medical Technologist

A Medical Technologist performs laboratory tests on blood, urine, and other body fluids to aid in medical diagnosis and evaluation. They utilize licensed skills to conduct manual and automated procedures across disciplines such as Hematology, Blood Bank, Chemistry, Urinalysis, Coagulation, Microbiology, and Immunology. Key Responsibilities Perform and review laboratory tests, ensuring accuracy before reporting results. Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory instruments, escalating issues as needed. Assist in specimen collection, including venipuncture across all age groups. Participate in training, quality assurance, and performance improvement initiatives. Document and communicate critical values promptly. Support department operations by assisting in various areas based on skill level. Develop and update laboratory policies under supervision. Qualifications & Skills Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related field; certification through ASCP or AMT preferred. Three to five years of experience preferred, but recent graduates are considered. Good communication and computer skills.
