Weyerhaeuser is seeking a highly motivated Real Estate Paralegal to support one of the largest private land owners in the United States in managing real estate transactions and strategic land assets across the country. You will serve as a valuable member of Weyerhaeuser’s Law and Procurement Department, supporting the Timberlands and Strategic Land Solutions organizations, and you will report to the Senior Legal Counsel/Transaction Team Manager. Reporting to the Senior Legal Counsel/Transaction Team Manager, you will play a key role in the acquisition, disposition, and management, of real property assets, partnering with attorneys, business leaders, and external service providers to execute transactions from initiation through closing. You will have the opportunity to support large, landscape-scale acquisitions and dispositions, but you will primarily manage a steady stream of small to mid-size transactions with business partners across the country. The successful candidate will be a collaborative team player, proactive problem solver, and strong project manager who combines attention to detail with sound judgment, business acumen, and the ability to identify practical solutions to complex issues. This is a non‑attorney position; the role does not involve the practice of law or the provision of legal advice. Key Responsibilities Analyze, review, and prepare transactional documents for real estate matters, including land sales, land acquisitions, and easements Serve as transaction manager for assigned matters, coordinating internal stakeholders and external parties through all phases of the transaction lifecycle Review and analyse title commitments, surveys, legal descriptions, title exceptions, and encumbrances; identify risks and prepare title objections and curative requests Support due diligence efforts, including review of title, survey, environmental, access, mineral, easement, and other real property matters Prepare documents for execution by corporate officers and manage execution of closing documents by the appropriate business leaders, maintaining current knowledge of notarial and recording requirements across multiple states Pursue post‑closing corrective matters and resolve outstanding issues Design, organise, and maintain electronic files and data sites, including those housing due diligence documentation Identify process improvement opportunities and support implementation of technology and automation solutions that improve transaction efficiency Required Associate's Degree, Bachelor's Degree, Paralegal Certificate, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience 3+ years of experience supporting real estate transactions in a law firm, title company, corporate legal department, or similar environment Ability to coordinate and administer multiple real estate transactions from initiation through closing with limited supervision, escalating novel or higher‑risk issues appropriately Ability to review and draft transactional documents, and to support negotiations under attorney direction Ability to analyse legal descriptions and title matters Strong analytical skills and the ability to identify, assess, and communicate legal and business risks Excellent organisational, written, and verbal communication skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience with electronic document management systems, data rooms, or transaction management platforms Ability to work confidently with outside counsel and other service providers Self‑starter who works well independently and as part of a team Preferred Paralegal certificate, bar association accreditation, or JD Corporate transactional and title work experience Experience with timberlands, conservation, natural resource, energy, infrastructure, or large‑scale land transactions Demonstrated use of technology and process improvement to increase efficiency and accuracy About Weyerhaeuser At Weyerhaeuser, we are the world’s premier timber, land, and forest products company. What We Offer: Compensation\: This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting an hourly range of $33.36 - $59.62 based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash incentive targeting 5%-7% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target. In addition, after being employed for six months, eligible employees begin to accrue vacation for future use.
