Job Title: Shipping Forklift Driver 

Location: Streamwood, IL

Job Type: Full-Time

Shift Options: 1st & 2nd          

Pay Rate: $17 both shifts 

Job Summary

We are seeking a dependable and safety-conscious Forklift Driver to join our warehouse team in Streamwood, Illinois. In this role, you will be responsible for operating a forklift, stand-up/sit-down truck, or powered hand jack to efficiently move raw materials, dry goods, and finished packaged products throughout our facility. 

You will play a critical role in maintaining accurate product rotation, fulfilling orders using advanced Voice picking systems and RF scan guns, and ensuring our fresh products move seamlessly from receiving to shipping. Must be able to drive sit down and stand up forklift. 

Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions

• Material Handling: Safely operate stand-up forklifts, sit-down forklifts, walkers, and powered hand jacks to transport raw produce, dry goods, and finished product across the warehouse floor. 
• Order Picking & Loading: Utilize the Voice order picking system and RF scanners to accurately select, stage, and load orders directly into assigned trailers according to customer configurations and freshness guidelines. 
• Inventory Control & Rotation: Follow strict First-In, First-Out (FIFO) procedures for product rotation to optimize inventory flow and maintain product quality. Conduct special inventory counts or cycle counts as required. 
• Safety & Equipment Inspections: Perform daily pre-operation safety inspections on all powered equipment and report any maintenance concerns or workplace mishaps immediately. Adhere strictly to all OSHA, SOP, and all safety policies. 
• Documentation & Communication: Complete all required tracking paperwork and system entries cleanly and accurately. Coordinate effectively with shift supervisors, production teams, inventory clerks, and QA staff. 
• Facility Cleanliness: Maintain a pristine and organized workspace, including active loading docks, raw product coolers, and finished goods storage areas. 

Working Conditions

• Cold Environment: Must be comfortable working long periods in a refrigerated warehouse environment maintained at a consistent 33&degree;F to 34&degree;F (cold and wet conditions). 
• Physical Demands: Ability to sit, stand, walk, and bend frequently throughout a 10-hour shift. Must be able to repeatedly lift and move up to 50 lbs. 

Required Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a warehouse, loading/receiving dock, or cold-storage environment. At least 6 to 12 months of active forklift operation experience. 
• Skills: Proficient basic math skills and reading comprehension for inventory and order validation. 
• Availability: Flexibility to work any assigned shift, including mandatory weekends and holidays as production demands dictate. 
• Core Abilities: High attention to detail, strong safety mindset, and the ability to work productively with minimal direct supervision.
