divh2Medical Assistant/h2pThe Medical Assistant is a multi-skilled individual that works in a healthcare setting to support the non-clinical and clinical functions of the service area. Functions within the Medical Assistant scope of practice and under the direction and continuous supervision of a licensed healthcare provider during performance of uncomplicated clinical services and tasks. Reports to department leadership./ph3Essential Duties And Responsibilities/h3ulliProvides safe and effective delivery of uncomplicated clinical services and tasks within the Medical Assistant scope of practice only and under the direction and continuous supervision of a licensed health care provider./liliProvides appropriate clinical and non-clinical information to facilitate visit process./liliMaintains sterility and cleanliness of the environment./liliMaintains supplies, equipment and instruments./liliSupports and performs clerical functions as needed./liliPerforms other duties as assigned./li/ulh3Licenses And/Or Certifications/h3ulliRequired Licenses and/or Certifications/liulliCPR training required and/or must be obtained within 45 days of hire./liliMust provide record of a completed diploma (or equivalent) or academic transcript for those areas performing complexity testing./li/ulliPreferred Licenses and/or Certifications/liulliCurrent registration/certification as a Medical Assistant, higher level clinical certification (LPN, RN, or higher) or military medical experience preferred./li/ul/ulh3Minimum Education And Experience Requirements/h3ulliRequired Education and Experience/liulliGraduate of an approved accredited allied health program or clinical program required./li/ulliPreferred Education and Experience/liulliOne to two years of experience in a related healthcare field preferred./li/ul/ulh3Working Conditions/h3pExpected to work in a patient care environment with minimal exposure to environmental hazards such as, but not limited to, excessive noise, dust, or extremes in temperatures.
