We have an exciting opportunity for at our general surgery clinic, where you'll be part of a collaborative environment that provides essential surgical services to our patients and the community we serve. You will work alongside a skilled team of MA's and an expert surgical team to ensure every patient receives the highest level of compassionate, specialized treatment right here at home.

Position Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm with some flexibility of shifts

What You'll Do:

• Measure and record vital signs
• Prepare patients for examinations
• Assist provider with exams and minor procedures
• Prepare medications
• Ensure chart completeness for patient consultations
• Assist with coordination of surgery schedule
• Prior authorizations for procedures, testing, DME supplies etc.
• Triage of patient phone calls
• Assist with Quality Improvement projects
• Regular communication with providers regarding patient care both verbally and through the EMR
• Knowledge of and adherence to OSHA safety standards
• Protect patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal, medical and financial information per HIPAA.

Qualifications

What You'll Need :

• Current Medical Assistant Certification (Required)
• 2 years' experience (Preferred)
• EMR experience (Required)
• Strong writing and verbal skills
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus but not required.
• Ability to work through interruptions, manage multiple priorities and handle stressful situations.
• Willingness to participate in Hospital orientation and educational in-service
