Position Summary Assistant Vice Chancellor for Advancement Services — provide enterprise leadership for systems, data, and operational infrastructure that power fundraising and alumni engagement. Reports to the Senior Vice Chancellor for Advancement and provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for gift administration, constituent records, prospect development, advancement systems, and analytics. Ensures data integrity, supports fundraising strategy, and drives data-informed decision-making across the advancement division. The ideal candidate will demonstrate sound judgement and experience in higher education advancement and mission-driven work. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience (military certification/education and experience may substitute for the degree) 10 years of progressive advancement services experience 5 years of experience managing personnel Preferred Qualifications Experience in a university setting or similarly complex non-profit Experience leading advancement operations in higher education Demonstrated success leading advancement services during a comprehensive campaign This position is eligible for hybrid work, with the ability to work from an alternate location up to two days per week. Essential Functions Set strategic vision and priorities for Advancement Services aligned with institutional goals Provide comprehensive leadership of Advancement Services; directly supervise 5 FTEs and indirectly supervise 14+ employees Lead annual goal-setting for staff within the applicable scope Manage operating budgets, participate in budget modeling and forecasting Partner with senior leadership to anticipate future needs related to campaigns, growth, and donor engagement Champion the strategic use of AI and automation across advancement services with ethical data practices Oversee integrity of the advancement database and prospect development strategy; improve data access and analytics Integrate service centers across Advancement and develop a shared strategy for exceptional support Align Advancement fundraising, gift accounting, and stewardship with university financial policies Strategic Team Management and Core Areas Gift & Records Administration Oversee gift processing, receipting, compliance, and data integrity Align policies with industry standards (CASE, IRS) and financial controls Guide data governance, audit readiness, and operational efficiency Prospect Development Shape strategy for prospect identification, research, and pipeline development Ensure alignment with fundraising priorities and portfolio management evolution Advancement Information Systems Lead technology priorities and coordinate with University IT and partners Develop a long-term roadmap for systems, data infrastructure, and digital innovation Champion systems integration and optimization of CRM and related technologies Coordinate initiatives across Advancement with a shared divisional strategy Drive innovation through emerging technologies, automation, and AI-enabled solutions Data Analysis & Analytics Promote data-informed strategy and decision-making Develop predictive modeling, segmentation, and performance metrics Ensure analytics capabilities meet campaign needs and fundraising models Strengthen data governance and reporting infrastructure Provide consistent, accurate reporting and support leadership with fundraising insights University Citizenship Collaborate with central and unit-based advancement functions and campus partners Build partnerships across campus to support fundraising practices Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong written and oral communication; ability to represent the university and initiatives Ability to work independently, maintain confidentiality, prioritize, and manage time Interpersonal skills to foster relationships with donors, volunteers, and university officials Cultural competency and ability to communicate across cultures Project management knowledge; basic accounting, data collection, and relational databases Standard office environment; reasonable noise levels Physical Activities Computer use; occasional movement on campus; ability to lift up to 20 lbs with assistance Work Schedule Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Application Details Application Deadline: 4:00 p.m. (MST) August 10, 2026 Special Instructions: Apply online through jobs.du.edu.
